Adolescent Therapy
Adolescents (12-18 years old)
I work with teenagers in a focused, supportive way—so that the ups and downs of adolescence feel less overwhelming and more like a chance to grow, explore, and move forward with clarity and confidence. These years can be intense. There’s a lot going on—internally and externally—and it can be hard for teens to make sense of it all while still trying to keep up with school, friendships, family dynamics, and everything else that comes with growing up.
I work developmentally, which means I understand that teenagers are still figuring out how to think, feel, and relate to the world in more complex ways. Sometimes they get stuck—maybe in anxiety, low mood, identity struggles, self-doubt, or just feeling lost. And sometimes something harder has happened: a trauma, loss, bullying, family breakdown, or other painful experiences that leave a lasting impact. Therapy gives teens a space to talk about these things safely and begin to process what they’ve been through.
In our sessions, I offer a calm, non-judgmental space where teens can speak openly and feel understood. We work together to build awareness, resilience, and practical tools for handling challenges. At the heart of this work is supporting them to make good choices—not just the “right” ones, but choices that are grounded in who they are, what matters to them, and the kind of life they want to lead.
It’s not about fixing or giving advice—it’s about helping them trust their own inner compass and feel more able to navigate what comes their way.
Parents and caregivers are often doing their best to support from the sidelines, but it can still feel uncertain and exhausting. Therapy can be a steady space in all that change—for the teen, and for the people who care about them.
